The 9th race has been taken off the turf which means the NYRA Bets Pick-5 and Pick-6 players get the short end of the once stick again with the finale now an "All" in both gimmicks.  There are already a trio of late scratches in the last race, Wicked Freud, Mobridge and Peculiar Sensation.

This was a decision that should have been made once rain began to fall during the running of the 4th race, before all bets were locked in the machines for the Pick-5 and Pick-6. It's the second time a belated decision to take the finale off the grass has been made after the Pick 5 and 6 wagers were locked in the machines in less than a week. The status of the turf course was obviously a tenuous one to begin with today with the 1st and 3rd races moved to the main track earlier this morning.  Even turf works were cancelled this morning over at the Oklahoma training track due to all the rain that had fallen here over the past several days.
