Trainer Bob Baffert informs that Dr. Dorr will run in the Grade 1, $1 million Pacific Classic on Saturday at Del Mar, representing his barn along with Roman Rosso, and Richard Baltas-trained Two Thirty Five will enter the race, bringing the expected field to eight.
Baffert made the decision shortly after Dr. Dorr worked six furlongs in 1:14 on Tuesday morning.
Dr. Dorr was second to Catalina Cruiser in the San Diego Handicap in his last start. Two Thirty Five was fourth in the race.
Mubtaahij will not run in the 1 1/4-mile Pacific Classic.
Trainer John Sadler said he was not going to enter both Accelerate and Catalina Cruiser, the latter scheduled to work Friday in preparation for a start in the Pat O'Brien here Aug. 25 or the Woodward at Saratoga Sept. 1.
Entries close today, and the draw is early evening Pacific time. Barring unforeseen late developments, the field is expected to be Accelerate, Beach View, Dr. Dorr, Pavel, Prime Attraction, Roman Rosso, The Lieutenant, and Two Thirty Five.
