Another tight finish, another review by the stewards. For the second time on Thursday, the stewards studied the result of a race but did not change the order of finish.
The placings remained the same after an inquiry in the fourth race, and again after an objection in the fifth race.
In the fifth race, Mischievious Lass ($8.40) finished three-quarters of a length in front of 2-1 favorite Crackling Bread. Ruben Fuentes, who rode Crackling Bread lodged an objection, focusing on whether Mischievious Lass drifted to the inside. The objection "failed to substantiate the claim of foul," the stewards said.
Mischievious Lass was ridden by apprentice jockey Heriberto Figueroa, who has won 15 races at this meeting and is currently fourth in the standings through the fifth race of the 22nd racing day of the 36-day season. Flavien Prat is the leading rider with 23 wins.
