Frostie Anne (5-2), under Junior Alvarado, took over from the pace-setting Verdant Pastures in the middle of the far turn, then held off a stretch-long try from Land Mine to win the $100,000 Saratoga Dew Stakes by a half-length. Land Mine finished second by 11 3-4 lengths over Pink Twist.
It was the sixth straight win for Frostie Anne, a daughter of Frost Giant owned by Michael Imperio and Rudy Rodriguez and trained by Rodriguez. Frostie Anne also won an off-the-turf allowance race here on Sunday.
Frostie Anne covered the 1 1-8 miles in a pokey 1:53.17 and returned $7 as the second choice.
