Jerry Hollendorfer, trainer of Unique Bella, said the champion filly is comfortable in her stall here at Del Mar after suffering what will be career-ending injury in a workout this morning.

Hollendorfer said Unique Bella has a small chip on the inside of her right front sesamoid. He said surgery is unlikely. He said if she was going to race again, surgery would be recommended, but said Unique Bella is "comfortable and relaxed."

"She's not in any distress," Hollendorfer said. "It's not a super bad fracture, just a small chip."
