Rushing Fall took over from the pace-setting Go Noni Go just before the quarter pole and galloped to a 2 3-4-length victory in the Grade 2, $300,000 Lake Placid Stakes for 3-year-old fillies.
A pretty impressive performace for a filly that's been off for three months and was trying 1 1-8 miles for the first time. Jockey Javier Castellano never hit Rushing Fall with the whip, simply waving it at her through the lane.
Capla Temptress rallied from next-to-last to finish second, by 2 1-2 lengths over Daddy Is a Legend. Adina Del Sur was fourth, followed by Signficant Form, Go Noni Go and Thewayiam, who never lifted a hoof for the first time in her career.
Rushing Fall, a daughter of More Than Ready owned by Bob Edwards and trained by Chad Brown, covered the 1 1-8 miles over yielding turf in 1:51.86 and returned $4.70 as the favorite.
