La Moneda, the 5-2 second choice, came with a steadfast late run under Junior Alvarado to nail pace-setting Lady Joan a few strides from the wire to win the $150,000 Yaddo Stakes by a neck.
it was the fourth straight win for La Moneda, trainedb Tom Morley for Patricia Moseley.
Lady Joan was second by a neck over Fifty Five, the even-money favorite.
La Moneda, a daughter of Freud out of the mare Jade Palace, returned $7.60 as the 5-2 second choice. She covered 1 1-16 miles in 1:40.49 over a turf that does seem to be firming up.
