Backstreet Shadow was sent to the front on the backstretch and the 1/5 favorite had no probloem taking care of business en route to a new life's mark of 1:49 2/5 win in the $95,600 (Cdn.) Ontario Sires Stakes Gold for sophomore pacing colts and geldings.

The son of Shadow Play out of the Dragon Again mare Backstreet Sweetie won his second straight since changing barns to Richard Moreau's stable and he was driven both times by Yannick Gingras. He has now won 5 of 10 starts this year and earned a shade over $115,000 for owners Lindsey and Connie Rankin of Lexington, Michigan. 

Levi's Day closed for 2nd and Sharp Action Money finished 3rd. 

There was an incident at the head of the stretch where Ali appeared to stumble and went down. The horse got up and seemed to have no major issues. Driver Pat Lachance required an ambulance to come from off sote to transport him to the local hospital.
