La Fuerza ($2.50) ran down Kadens Courage in the stretch to win the second stakes race of his career in the $112,850 Aspirant on Saturday at Finger Lakes. Kadens Courage finished second over third-place finisher Pay the Vet.
La Fuerza moved to the lead after the start of the six furlong race run on a fast track, taking the field through an opening quarter in 22.69 seconds. Kadens Courage moved to the fore through a half-mile in 46.88 seconds, while La Fuerza angled off the rail coming into the stretch and took after the leader for a clear win in 1:12.97.
Chris DeCarlo was aboard La Fuerza for trainer Todd Pletcher. Earlier this year, La Fureza won the Rockville Centre at Belmont Park. He races for Barry Schwartz.
The Aspirant was the first of two juvenile stakes for New York-breds being run on Saturday at Finger Lakes.
