The G2 Nearctic is the second turf race of the day, but it's the first race run in lane 1 on this course since Sept. 16. The course is labeled good, and the Going-stick rating is 9.9.

New York shipper Lady Alexandra, the lone distaffer in the 11-horse field, opened up as a 2-1 underlay in the six-furlong dash.

The three Mike Maker charges, Hemp Hemp Hurray, Kitten's Cat and Hembree, were all hovering around 6-1 with 20 minutes to post. The former has been working like he's sitting on a big effort.

Yorkton will come down from his early 16-1 price. He prefers it firm, as does Holding Gold (6-1).
