While sloppy tracks may cause many trainers to delay breezing horses, that is typically not the case at Churchill Downs, a surface widely considered to handle rain better than most. So even on a rainy Sunday morning in the Bluegrass, Iroquois runner-up Tight Ten breezed at Churchill, covering five-eighths for trainer Steve Asmussen in 1:01 2/5.
A 20-1 outsider on Daily Racing Form's latest Breeders' Cup Juvenile Line, Tight Ten is established over the Churchill Downs surface, having broken his maiden there, in addition to a half-length loss to the now sidelined Cairo Cat in the Iroquois. In between, he ran second in the Saratoga Special.
His past performances are attached.
