Posh Holly ($6) closed with a wide rally to win a maiden race for 2-year-old fillies at a mile on turf in Saturday's seventh race. The timing of the win could lead to a start in the Grade 3 Jimmy Durante Stakes at a mile on turf at Del Mar on Nov. 24.
Trained by Phil D'Amato for Michael House, Posh Holly closed from fifth with three furlongs remaining to win by 1 3-4 lengths over 5-1 Ask the Customer. Posh Holly was timed in 1:36.75.
The unlucky runner in the field of eight was 8-1 Mercy Mercy who raced in traffic in early stretch and finished fourth.
Posh Holly, who was ridden by Geovanni Franco, has had four starts. She was sixth and third in maiden races in Ireland before finishing fourth in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf in her American debut on June 3.
