Just had an arsenal of Chad Brown turf horses breeze over Belmont's inner course, many of whom are preparing for upcoming Breeders' Cup races.
Sistercharlie, potential favorite for the Filly & Mare Turf, went five eighths in 1:00.78 in company with Uni, who I believe is aiming toward the Matriarch at Del Mar in December.
Robert Bruce, preparing for the BC Turf, went five eighths in 1:00.78 as well in company with Kentucky Derby fourth-place finisher Instilled Regard, who went OK in his first work on the turf.
Analyze It and Almanaar, both being pointed to the BC Mile, went a half-mile together in 49.50 seconds.
A Raving Beauty and Foustar Crook, both likely to be pre-entered in the Filly & Mare Turf, went a half-mile together in 48.72 seconds. Irad Ortiz Jr. was aboard A Raving Beauty, who definitely wanted to do more than Ortiz would allow.
Also working on the turf was Backtohisroots, the Futurity runner-up who is pointing to the Turf Sprint for trainer John Terranova. Backtohisroots was very wide in the lane and was late switching leads while covering a half-mile in 48.93 seconds, finishing a length in front of Broadway Run.
