Extra Hope won his fourth start, and first with blinkers, in a maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds at 1 1-16 miles in Sunday's fifth race.
The colt won in a style that suggests further improvement is likely. Ridden by Drayden Van Dyke, Extra Hope ($10) stalked pacesetter Magnficent McCool to the top of the stretch and pulled clear rapidly to win by 8 3-4 lengths in 1:44.84.
Magnificent McCool (5-2) finished second, followed by 3-5 Street Class, who never threatened Extra Hope.
Owned by Samantha Siegel and trained by Richard Mandella, Extra Hope is by Shanghai Bobby. The colt was second, third and fourth in his first three races.
