Mind Control, the Grade 1 Hopeful winner, completed his major preparations for a start in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, by working five furlongs in 1:00.80 Friday morning at Monmouth Park.
Trainer Gregory Sacco said the work was done in company over a track that he labeled “beachy and cuppy.”
It was Mind Control’s third work since he returned to Monmouth after having to scratch from the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity due to a temperature
“He worked just like he did right before the Hopeful; middle of the track, five-eighths, in company, on the bridle,” Sacco said. “Every work since we came back from Kentucky was pretty good leading up to this one. This one was right on the mark. He cooled out great and scoped clean.”
Mind Control will be flown to Kentucky on Monday along with the New York-based contingent of horses.
