Saturday’s 10-race card at Belmont Park was canceled due to dangerously high winds associated with a powerful coastal storm forecast to impact Long Island and the New York City area throughout the day.
Wind gusts were forecast up to 50 miles per hour at times.
Simulcasting was to go on as scheduled at Belmont and Aqueduct.
There were three stakes scheduled for Saturday. The Grade 3, $200,000 Bold Ruler Handicap will now be run on Friday's opening-day card at Aqueduct. It will be re-drawn today.
The $100,000 English Channel and $100,000 Awad Stakes, both scheduled for the turf, have been rescheduled for Nov. 4 at Aqueduct. Those races will be re-drawn on Thursday.
The Belmont fall meet concludes on Sunday with a nine-race card (12:30 p.m. first post) before racing on this circuit moves to Aqueduct beginning Friday.
