Long-winded Homeland Security took the lead from pace-setting Beau Belle approaching the eighth pole of the 1 1/2-mile Zagora Stakes at Belmont Park on Sunday, then held off runner-up Golden Attitude with determination to win the $125,000 Zagora by about a half-length.
Homeland Security is trained by Chad Brown and paid $7.90 in the turf marathon for fillies and mares. She was the third consecutive winner on the card for Irad Ortiz Jr.
Ortiz and Brown led their respective divisions at the Belmont fall meet, which concludes today.
