Ikerrin Road rallied from fourth to win the oddly run allowance prep for the G2 Kennedy Road Stakes. Singandcryindubai secured the early lead in the six-furlong dash, before the favored Hemp Hemp Hurray rushed up to take control heading into the turn. Singandcryindubai regained the lead nearing the eighth pole, but Ikerrin Road went best in the final furlong to triumph by daylight, in a time of 1:09.66.
The easiest winner of the evening was Sister Peacock, who went coast-to-coast in a six-furlong allowance for 2yo fillies, scoring by 7 1/2 lengths, in a time of 1:09.87. The unbeaten daughter of Real Solution looks like a stakes winner in the making.
Alnilah also looked good when taking a second-level optional-claiming sprint. She held off the hard-ridden favorite, Blurricane, to win by three-quarters of a length, in 1:09.32 for the six furlongs.
Luis Contreras doubled up, and a hot Gary Boulanger guided 40-1 shot Roxham in a last-to-first victory in the nightcap.
The Jackpot Hi 5 was won outright. The carryover was $73K heading into the eighth.
Racing resumes with an appealing 10-race card on Friday.
