Maximus Mischief, who recorded the highest Beyer Speed Figure of the year by a 2-year-old, had his first workout since that race Monday at Parx. Trainer Butch Reid is pointing Maximus Mischief to the Grade 2 Remsen at Aqueduct on Dec. 1.

A son of Into Mischief, Maximus Mischief was purchased in May by Chuck Zacney for $340,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale in Timonium, Md. Maximus Mischief races for Zacney's Cash Is King Stable and the D. J. Stable of Leonard Green.

Maximus Mischief is two for two. He earned a 94 Beyer in his debut, winning a 5 1/2-furlong Parx maiden race easily by 8 3/4 lengths. He came back to win a seven-furlong allowance by six lengths Oct. 20, earning a 98. Frankie Pennington, the leading rider at Parx, was aboard in both races.

On Monday, Maximus Mischief worked five furlongs in 59.03 seconds over a fast track. Clocker Scott Bakos caught him in splits of 34.88 and 47.03. The work was the fastest of 15 at the distance Monday.

Two horses are tied for the second highest Beyer of the year by a 2-year-old.

Game Winner, who is trained by Bob Baffert, earned a 97 for his victory in the Grade 1 American Pharoah at Santa Anita. He has since won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile with a 93.

Vekoma, who races for trainer George Weaver, was given a 97 for his victory in the Grade 2 Nashua at Aqueduct on Nov. 4. Vekoma also is under consideration for the Remsen.

The Grade 2, $250,000 Remsen is a 1 1/8-mile race over Aqueduct's main track.
