No Deal ($4.40), in her 14th career start, finally found a group she could handle as she dueled early with Way Over Budget, then opened up a large advantage in the stretch and won under a hand ride in this $20,000 NY-bred maiden claimer.
No Deal, who had never raced this cheap before, was the second straight horse to win who had speed and the inside route. Call Me ($10.80), who also was dropping sharply in class for Todd Pletcher in the opener, was on the lead and on the inside. Call Me defeated Cookie Crisp, a 5-year-old gelding who was 1 for 22 but yet who was the 6-5 favorite. That's eight second-place finishes for Cookie Crisp.
Jockey Luis Saez rode both winners.
