Battle of Midway fought off a stubborn challenge from Dabster to win Sunday's Grade 3 Native Diver Stakes for his second consecutive stakes win.

Battle of Midway ($3.20) took the lead at the start of the race at 1 1-8 miles and dueled with Dabster through the final six furlongs before winning by a head. Dabster led briefly on the backstretch, but could not shake clear of his rival.

Isotherm finished third, 26 lengths behind Dabster. Only three race. Roman Rosso, Gift Box and Kershaw were withdrawn early Sunday.

Battle of Midway won the minor Comma to the Top Stakes at a mile on turf on Oct. 28, his first win since returning to training in the spring after a failed stud career. In 2017, Battle of Midway was third in the Kentucky Derby and won the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile here.
