Qahira, a first-time starter by Cairo Prince, won her debut in an attractive style in a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies in Sunday's seventh race.
Ridden by Drayden Van Dyke, his third win of the day, Qahira was always near the front and pulled away to win by 4 3-4 lengths over 3-1 Slewgoodtobetrue. Qahira was timed in 1:10.59.
Bob Baffert trains Qahira, who races for Baoma Corp. Baffert is having an outstanding year with 2-year-olds, led by the Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Game Winner.
Qahira was purchased for $375,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sale of 2-year-olds in-training in June.
