Moonlit Promise, who won the Grade 2 Bessarabian for the second year in a row last Sunday at Woodbine, has been retired from racing and will be bred to Quality Road in 2019, according to a release from Hill 'n' Dale Farms in Kentucky.
Moonlit Promise won 8 of 18 starts, for earnings of $507,462. The 5-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon was a Sovereign Award finalist for Canadian champion female sprinter and champion older female in 2017, and could be a finalist again this year.
"It is extremely gratifying to raise a mare of the caliber of Moonlit Promise. She will be an invaluable addition to our broodmare band," said Hill 'n' Dale Farm president John Sikura.
Moonlit Promise was trained by Josie Carroll, and campaigned by Hill 'n' Dale Equine Holdings and Windsor Boys Racing.
