Ms Locust Point tuned up for next month's Grade 3, $250,000 Barbara Fritchie Stakes with a three-length allowance victory at Parx Racing on New Year's day.
The Fritchie will be held at Laurel Park on Feb. 16. Ms Locust Point won last year's running by 4 1/2 lengths over a muddy track on a raw and snowy day.
On Tuesday, Ms Locust Point attended the early race three wide in the six-furlong, no-conditions allowance. She took command entering the stretch under jockey Jeremy Rose and won comfortably.
Ms Locust Point was timed in 1:11.81 after fractions of 22.81, 46.39, and 58.63. The track was listed as muddy for the first three races on the card and upgraded to "good" prior to Ms Locust Point's fourth-race victory.
Times were slow over the Parx strip Tuesday. Race 3, a six-furlong race for $20,000 claiming fillies and mares, went in 1:15.23. Race 5, a $7,500 restricted claiming race, was timed in 1:12.77.
Ms Locust Point, a four-time stakes winner, has now won seven of 13 starts and $507,000. The 5-year-old daughter of Dialed In is trained by John Servis and races for Cash Is King Stable, Jim Reichenberg, and Bruno De Julio.
