Stubbins ($10.40) caught 6-5 favorite Onthewaytonevrland in the final sixteenth to win Sunday's first race, an allowance race with an $80,000 claiming option for 3-year-olds on the hillside turf course.

Stubbins, ridden by Rafael Bejarano, is unbeaten on the hillside turf course, having won a maiden special weight race in his grass debut on Jan. 5.

The win could lead to a start in the $200,000 Pasadena Stakes for 3-year-olds at a mile on turf on March 2 for Stubbins, who races for McShane Racing and trainer Doug O'Neill.
