The weather is supposed to clear up here in SoFla as the weekend nears, so hopefully the steady rain/drizzle that will greet the start of a long span of racing here today at Gulfstream (and is forecast to endure throughout the afternoon) is just an aberration. It's highly likely that we'll be sloppy and off throughout a 10-race Wed. card that starts at 12:35 p.m ET.
Starting today, racing will be held here on 11 of the next 12 days, with a special Presidents Day card on Monday leaving Tuesday (Feb. 19) as the lone dark day through Feb. 24. The highlight of the coming weekend is the G3 Royal Delta, for fillies and mares going a one-turn mile on Saturday.
For today, the carryover in the Rainbow 6 (races 5-10) stands at $36,579, and there's a carryover of $9,580 into the R1 Super High 5 (assuming as many as 7 run).
Predictably, there are a ton of scratches here today:
R1 (off turf): 2, 3, 6, 7, 12
R3 (off turf): 2, 3, 5
R4: 4
R5 (off turf): 3, 6, 7, 11, 14
R7 (off turf): 1, 2, 3, 8
R8 (off turf): 2, 6
R10 (off turf): 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, all AEs
