Although the sun is out and it's going to be a nice day and we're expecting a fast main track by the time the first of 11 races is run here today at 12:35 ET, the rain that inundated this region for much of Wednesday was sufficient to leave the Gulfstream too wet for turf racing today. That's too bad, because no fewer than SIX of the 11 races had been scheduled for the grass. As a result, as surely you guessed, there are plenty of early scratches to report.

That's the bad news. The good news is that no rain is expected the rest of this week (it's another 6-day race week here, with non-stop action straight thru the Presidents Day holiday on Monday).

As for the 20-cent Rainbow 6 (races 6-11), the two-day carryover has a little more than $58,000 in the jackpot.
