Platinum Equity ($3.60) closed from third to win Thursday's third race for $12,500 claimers, the 4-year-old gelding's third win of 2019.
Ridden by Ruben Fuentes for trainer Andrew Lerner, Platinum Equity beat Twirling Tiger in the field of five.
Platinum Equity won a $12,500 claimer for non-winners of two on Jan. 6 and a $14,000 claimer for non-winners of three on Jan. 31. Fuentes was aboard for both of those wins. The hat trick of wins comes after Platinum Equity was winless in 12 starts in 2018. The gelding was claimed for $12,500 by Lerner for Vindicate Racing in October.
Lerner has won four races at this meeting. Platinum Equity was his only starter on Thursday.
Platinum Equity is the second three-time winner of the meeting, which began on Dec. 26. Apache Princess, who won the Grade 3 Sweet Life Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on Sunday, has won three races at the meeting.
Platinum Equity was claimed in a three-way shake by trainer Steve Knapp.
