Jockey Joel Rosario swept the early double on Thursday with Aced and Big Base. He did not ride the next three races and is back in action in the sixth on Annie's Candy (7) in a $40,000 claimer at 5 1-2 furlongs.
Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, Annie's Candy is the 3-1 morning-line favorite. A 6-year-old gelding, Annie's Candy has raced at Golden Gate Fields since August. Earlier in his career he was a winner at Santa Anita when trained by Peter Miller.
Rosario's two wins earlier this afternoon give him a narrow 30-29 lead in the jockey standings over Flavien Prat, who has his first mount of the day in the sixth race on Distinctive B (9). Distinctive B was seventh in the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Churchill Downs in November. This is Distinctive B's first appearance in a claiming race since January, 2018.
