I recorded a video preview of this afternoon's late pick four sequence at Laurel; you can find that on video.drf.com.
After a few scratches, here are some quick thoughts on the sequence...
RACE 7
- UNBRIDLED JUAN (3) is taking the lion's share of the early money, and I'd definitely use him...I'm just not sure he deserves to be such a heavy favorite (plenty of time for things to change); at more intriguing prices I'd also consider JOHNNY JUMP UP (2) and GENERAL DOWNS (11)
RACE 8
- I think the General George is an absolute war and a total spread race in any pick sequence; my stab in here is LONG MAY YOU RUN (14) from the far outside, who admittedly defeated a much weaker group at Penn National most recently and must prove that he actually belongs against better
RACE 9
- If LATE NIGHT POW WOW (3) keeps rolling along, I like her quite a bit at what should be a square price; her form is tremendous and as much as I respect SPICED PERFECTION (1), I'm not sure I'm terrified of her in here
RACE 10
- Many will single VELOCITA BRILLANTE (4), as she's easily the fastest on paper; if you're looking for an alternative, consider MARY'S JEWEL (6), TOMA (8) and REIN SUPREME (9)
