Blamed wire to wire in Royal Delta

Blamed bounced back from the worse performance of her career just three weeks earlier when finishing a tiring fifth in the Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie to register a popular, wire to wire victory in the $150,000 Royal Delta Stakes.  The Mexican bred filly Jala Jala finished second with Tequilita third in the Grade 3 fixture for older fillies and mares.

Blamed, a 4-year-old daughter of Blame, is trained by Bill Mott for owner Cleber Massey.  She completed a mile over the fast track in 1:35.18 under jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. and returned $3.80. The win was the seventh in ten starts for Blamed, who began her career in the southwest with traiiner Joel Marr before joining Mott's stable midway through her 3-year-old campaign.
