Some thoughts on the upcoming Rachel Alexandra...
- I think the water gets considerably deeper for the fillies exiting the Silverbulletday (NEEDS SUPERVISION (9), ERES TU (8), LIORA (5)); of those three, I much prefer the outside two, simply from a running style standpoint
- MOLTO BELLA (1) was visually strong winning the Gasparilla at Tampa most recently, but I've got a funny feeling she's going to be significantly better going one-turn as opposed to two
- POSITIVE SPIRIT (4) is logical in here, and a replica of her Demoiselle makes her the horse to beat this afternoon; she seems to relish added ground, but I do wonder if this is a means to an end for her and her connections - perhaps just a starting off point?
- I like OXY LADY (6) for Jack Sisterson; I was a bit skeptical of her Tempted, but I thought she at least made it seem plausible with a solid enough effort in the Starlet at Los Al on 12/8; those fillies are considerably better than the ones she'll face today, and Los Al is a very quirky track - some horses get over it great, and others flounder
