Galilean earns 84 Beyer

Speed-figure handicappers might have a tough time getting behind Galilean when the 3-year-old faces graded stakes company. Galilean, a California-bred son of Uncle Mo, earned a mere 84 Beyer winning the California Cup Derby by four and one-half lengths on Monday at Santa Anita.

Galilean, trained by Jerry Hollendorfer and ridden by Flavien Prat, won the mile and one-sixteenth Cal Cup Derby by four and one-half lengths in 1:43.43. The win was his third from four starts.
