It must've rained extremely hard overnight here at Gulfstream, with standing water throughout the parking lots and the main track having been sealed during morning training. The sun is shining brightly now, and the main track is drying out to the extent that surely it'll be harrowed and fast when the first of 10 is run here at 12:35 ET -- but then more rain is in the forecast for about 3 p.m. and beyond.
So, given that there will be an abundance of turf races run here Saturday on the huge Fountain of Youth card, including six turf stakes, it's probably a wise decision by Gulfstream management that they've moved all 5 turf races scheduled for today to the main track. All the early SCR for Wednesday follow here shortly.
Three of the 6 races in the Rainbow 6 sequence (R5-10) have (theoretically) been rendered easier by all the scratches, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect a carryover for Thursday. Into today, the Rainbow jackpot stands at nearly $400,000.
As for weather later in the week, well, everything looks good after tonight. The Saturday forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 82. Entries for the FOY and all Saturday races will be taken and drawn today, with the overnight expected sometime in late afternoon.
