Bravazo will miss an intended start in the Dubai World Cup, trainer D. Wayne Lukas said Friday.

Lukas said Bravazo has been diagnosed with “small flakes” in the upper joint of his left knee. He was shipped early Friday to Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky. 

Bravazo is based at Oaklawn. Lukas said Dr. Larry Bramlage will perform surgery.

Lukas said the prognosis for Bravazo is excellent and he will likely return to Churchill on June 1 with the intent of a fall campaign.
