The sealed, “sloppy” surface Saturday at Santa Anita produced fast times, which is the reason Pasadena Stakes winner Stubbins earned a mere 83 Beyer for his 1:36.15 eight-length victory in the one-mile stakes race for 3-year-olds. Scheduled for turf, the race was moved to the main track due to wet conditions. Pasadena favorite Big Scott Daddy struggled with the surface and finished a distant fourth. Wet weather continues Sunday, expect races 2 and 4 to be moved to the main track. Official announcement pending.
(According to 7:30 a.m. text from Santa Anita racing office, races 2 and 4 remain on turf.)
