Oaklawn Park puts on a stakes double Saturday with the Grade 3, $200,000 Honeybee a points race for the Kentucky Oaks and the $150,000 Hot Springs serving as the first start of the year for Grade 1 winner Whitmore.
It is a rainy morning in Hot Springs, Ark., where Oaklawn put out a notice that morning training was being suspended due to lightning, with the situation to be evaluated an hour after the announcement. The forecast calls for thunderstorms on and off through about 3 p.m. Central, then cloudy skies from there, with temperatures in the low 70s throughout the day, according to AccuWeather.
UPDATE: Oaklawn announced at 10 a.m. that its track would be reopened for training at 10:30, with the session to last through 11:15. First post is 1 p.m. Central.
