The high temp is supposed to reach the low 80s today at Keeneland, where the 6th of 16 spring programs gets under way at 1:05 ET. There are 9 races on tap, with R8 marking the return of the graded-caliber filly, TALK VEUVE TO ME, in allowance company. We'll be fast and firm all day, with sunny skies turning cloudy later on but no threat of rain.
It looks like the Lou/Lex region dodged a weather bullet, as there was ominous talk earlier in the week about the potential for violent storms Thurs/Fri, but that apparently won't come to fruition. Overnight showers are predicted tonight, but nothing to a huge extent. Hopefully the turf will be in great shape for the weekend, when the Maker's 46 (Fri) and G1 Jenny Wiley (Sat.) are run as the last 2 G1s of the meet.
Here are the Thursday scratches:
R1-(2)
R2-(4)
R3-(4)
R4-(1A, 6, 14, 15)
R5-(13)
R7-(all AEs)
