Bourbon Resolution ($38.60) powered clear in the stretch for an upset win in the Grade 3, $200,000 Ben Ali Stakes on Saturday at Keeneland.
Bourbon Resolution and Chris Landeros tracked the moderate pace set by favored Flameaway, pressired by Noble Commander, in third on the outside. When given his cue turning for home, he swept past and drew off to win by 4 1/2 lengths. He finished the 1 1/8 miles in 1:50.82.
Nun the Less closed for second, followed 2 1/2 lengths back by Third Day, Just Whistle, Solomini, Flameaway, Noble Commander, Hence, Bonus Points, and First Mondays.
Bourbon Resolution, who is trained by Ian Wilkes, is now 3-2-0-1 on the season. After winning an allowance-optional event in February off a more than seven-month layoff, he finished third in the Challenger Stakes at Tampa, won by Flameaway.
