No stakes on the solid 10-race card, on a sunny/warm day in Toronto.
Trainer Catherine Day Phillips swept the late double Saturday with Smooth Talk and Notice Me. She has a host of live runners today, and could keep the ball rolling.
Dixie Moon, last year's Woodbine Oaks winner, is the 6-5 morning line favorite in featured third, an allowance route with no conditions. If she isn't at her best off the 4 1/2-month layoff, then Cartabianca might get the money in her second start on this side of the pond. The latter won a listed stakes on synthetics in France on Nov. 27 before joining trainer Roger Attfield's barn in Florida during the winter.
In the second, Day Phillips sends out the favored comebacker Katie Baby, who appears to be the clear in the seven-furlong N1X. She will also saddle Bobby Bittman and Encierro in the fourth, and the winter-raced Abe Froman in the eighth.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is $31K.
