Stay Smart's sire, Stay Thirsty, is only 5-for-90 with first-time turf runners, but overall his turf runners score at a slightly better clip of 8%. The dam of Smart Strike is Smart N Classy, a graded stakes winner on grass; she's also produced turf graded stakes winner, Valedictorian.

At a square price, Stay Smart is a filly worth considering underneath in exotics.
