There are five scratches on the 9-race card that begins at approximately 2:15 p.m. Pacific.
Race 6: (7) Targa and (8) Dizzy Diva
Race 7: (6) Ride Hard Kowboy and (8) Archie Graham
Race 9: (6) Miss Wine Topper
Mucho Amor stands out in the $50,000 Seattle Stakes in race 8. The Blaine Wright-trained 3-year-old filly won her debut for trainer Wesley Ward at Keeneland last year and finished fourth in the Grade 2 Adirondak at Saratoga. In her first start for Wright she romped in a first-level allowance race with a $40K claiming option at Golden Gate. With a similar performance she will be tough to beat.
Race 5 marks the return of Barkley, who is making his first start since he won the Grade 3 Longacres Mile on Aug. 12. Trainer Howard Belvoir said he is "training fit, not racing fit," but Barkly said otherwise when he worked a bullet 5 furlongs in :57.20 seconds on May 2.
