Jason Beem has been confirmed as track announcer for the 2019 Colonial Downs meet by multiple sources in Virginia and Maryland. An offiicial announcement is expected Friday.

The 15-day Colonial meet runs from Aug. 8 to Sept. 7.

Beem is currently calling the races at Monmouth Park until June 23 when full-time track announcer Frank Mirahmadi retuurns from his current duties at Santa Anita.,

Beem, a 38-year-old from Washington State, called the races at Portland Meadows for 10 years through 2014. He also was the announcer at Louisiana Downs, River Downs, and Emerald Downs before taking a sabbatical from the profession. He returned to the announcer's's booth last fall to fill in for Peter Aiello at Gulfstream Park West.
