Off the turf on this rainy Saturday. The Tapeta was quick for morning works after the rain started.
Skywire, the 3-5 morning line favorite, will prep for the $1 million Queen's Plate in the third, the G3 Marine Stakes. The highly-regarded Mark Casse charge is the lone Canadian-bred in the five-horse. Global Access, who finished a good second to Skywire in the Wando Stakes, should be the main threat in the 1 1/16-mile route for 3yos.
2017 Canadian Horse of the Year Pink Lloyd will be a short price in the ninth, the $125K Greenwood Stakes, a six-furlong dash for Ontario-breds. He won his season opener against tougher in the G3 Jacques Cartier Stakes, in which Eskiminzin finished a respectable fifth at 126-1.
Blueblood is scratched from the Greenwood. He was re-entered in Wednesday night's feature.
There's no show wagering on the two stakes.
No carryover in the Jackpot Hi 5, which returned $80K yesterday.
