Santa Anita: Monrovia Stakes to be run on dirt

Sunday's $200,000 Monrovia Stakes for fillies and mares at five furlongs has been transferred from turf to dirt because of expected rain this afternoon. There has been a minimal amount of rain this morning.

The race has been downgraded from a Grade 2 to a Grade 3 until the American Graded Stakes commitee has a chance to review the running.

The race drew a field of 11, with one horse on the also-eligible list. There have been four scratches - Poster Girl (1), Ginger Nut (5), A Little Bit Me (6) and Gliding By (9). Spectator (11) has drawn into the race from the also-eligible list.
