There aren't many significant changes on the Penn Mile card at Penn National on Saturday. The main track is listed as fast and the turf is being called yielding after getting socked with midweek rain.
Empire of War, as expected, was scratched from the Grade 2, $500,000 Penn Mile to instead run in the Tale of the Cat at Monmouth Park today. Ionic is scratched from the $200,000 Penn Oaks. There are now eight runners in the Penn Mile and seven in the Oaks.
Ujjayi, who was cross-entered in the New Start Stakes (race 4) and the Oaks, will run in the Oaks. I'll Take the Cake, who was entered in both the Penn Ladies Dash (race 6) and the Susquehana (race 8), will go in the Susquehana, a 1 1/16-mile turf race.
Ultimate Mo, who may have been favored in the New Start, a six-furlong race for Pennsylvania-bred 3-year-old fillies, has been scratched.

Regal Glory is going to be a short-priced favorite in the Oaks for trainer Chad Brown. The Kiaran McLaughlin-trained A Thread of Blue tops the Penn Mile. His chief competition may come from Forty Under, who will be making his second start of the year for Jeremiah Englehart.
The Penn Pick 6, which will be held on races 3-8, has a mandatory payout today. The carryover is $4,954.
