Louisiana Downs will be dark today, Wednesday, because of plans to race July 4, which falls on a Thursday.

The track's next live race date is this Saturday, while racing next week will run from Monday thorugh Thursday, July 1-4. 

First post for the special July 4 card will be 3:15 p.m. Central and there will be exhibition races for exotic animals, according to a press release from Louisiana Downs.
