A party cloudy, humid day, with a chance of rain, for the 11-race card.
Firm for both turf courses. Lane 3 for the inner, and lane 4 for the main.
Presque Isle-based Fast Scene is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $100K My Dear, a 5 1/2-furlong stakes for juvenile fillies. She earned the highest Beyer in the field (72) when graduating here in her June 15 debut. The Good Witch is adding Lasix off a second with a 64 Beyer in her May 3 debut, after which she had a shin problem before working a good 5/8.
There's lots of other potential speed in the My Dear field, including the Presque shippers Copper Gem and Nite Brite, along with Bayerly Seen. The latter landed her debut on the dirt at Indiana by 12 1/4 lengths, but only got a 58 Beyer. Her lack of synthetic track experience is a negative, but she should garner lots of action because of her high-profile trainer, Brad Cox.
Note that the second Pick 4 begins on the eighth, which is the My Dear.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is $26K.
