Green Light Go, the 8-5 morning-line favorite, will scratch from Monday's Grade 1, $350,000 Runhappy Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga, according to trainer Jimmy Jerkens.
"He is fine, didn't want to run in the mud," Jerkens wrote via text. "On to the Champagne."
The Grade 1 Champagne will be run at Belmont Park on Oct. 5.
Saratoga's main track was rendered sloppy due to heavy rains Monday morning.
Green Light Go, owned by Frank Stronach, was the morning-line favorite for the Hopeful based on a strong maiden win at Belmont Park on July 4 and the Grade 2 Saratoga Special here on Aug. 10.
His scratch leaves Gozilla as the likely favorite in what will be a six-horse field.
