Santa Anita: Donna Veloce wins debut by 9 1-4 lengths

Donna Veloce, an Uncle Mo filly purchased for $800,000 at a 2-year-olds in-training sale earlier this year, was the easy winner of her debut in a maiden special weight race for fillies in Saturday's fourth race.

Ridde by Flavien Prat, Donna Veloce ($3.20) dispited the early pace before pulling clear to win by 9 1-4 lengths despite not being urged in the final furlong. Donna Veloce ran 6 1-2 furlongs in 1:16.22.

The filly is owned by Kaleem Shah and trained by Simon Callaghan.
